Don’t like your PC running too slow and always take ages to execute a command. Below are some tips by following which you can make your PC run much faster then before.
1. Upgrade Your RAM to higher capacity
This is one of the most thing whcih every one should do if they are facing slow PC problem. But usually most of the persons skip this because this cost them some $$. These days you should have minimum of 1GB RAM in you CPU and it will only cost you about $20 to $30 (1000 to 1200 INR ).
2. Remove all unwanted software
It is tendency of user to install all kind of software which he see on Internet, but there is hardly any use of them. For example you have installed about 5 to 10 toolbars, multiple web browsers and most important is more then 1 anti virus application. This will make your computer run like tortoise. Don’t just install all sofwares for particular application just choose which one is best and suited to your need. You can remove the unwanted softwares by going in start>settings>control panel>Add or Remove Programs. Make sure you have installed only one or two web browsers like Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and Safari. I don’t think you use all of them like i use Firefox maximum so it is recommended you remove others.
3. Remove unwanted IM or Messengers
I think every on has atleast two IM messengers. If you have installed many IM clients like MSN. Yahoo, Skypee, GTalk, Aol but you don’t use all of them then you should remove which you don’t use Or you can use Digsby all in one IM solution.
4. Disk Cleanup your Major Drives
There are many temporary files made when you are working on your PC so it is advised you remove these temporary files after some days. You can do this by going in Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools> Disk Clean. Select the drive one by one to complete the disk cleanup.
5. Disable Desktop Icons/Shortcuts
More and more icons on your desktop will make your computer slower. Make sure your desktop is not full of shortcuts of many softwares or applications. We can access any application from Start Menu and the Quick Launch menu. You can disable desktop icons by right-click on your desktop, select “Arrange Icons by” and uncheck “Show Desktop Icons”.
6. Scan your PC for Malware, Spyware, Viruses Regularly
This one is important especially if you are regular internet surfer. First you should have Firewall switch ON, should have good anti-spyware software, should have good anti-virus software. You should scan your PC regularly with these softwares and if there is any virus or spyware slowing your PC then these softwares will cliean them.
