Why is the iPhone 4 better than the 3GS?

Since the release of the iPhone in January 2007, it has proved to be a global sensation and the must have accessory for everyone that knows anything about mobile phone technology. There have been several upgrades of the hardware and software of the iPhone since 2007 but none has come accompanied by the same excitement and furore (apart from, of course, the release of the first iPhone!) as the release of the iPhone 4. The popularity of this latest version of the phone has had everyone talking over the last year and this hype begs the question; is the iPhone 4 really that much better than the 3GS?

Well… the general consensus is that it is, much better. In terms of aesthetics Apple have made several improvements since its predecessor with the look getting an overhaul. The iPhone 4 is much thinner than the 3GS, something that has pleased iPhone fans. The latest incarnation also lasts a lot longer on charge as any of the previous iPhones and this is a big deal with users as the battery life is something that has come under criticism before.

As well as these technical and aesthetic changes, there are also many changes in the operating system that have had fans salivating at the prospect of getting their hands on the iPhone 4. The phones now offer multitasking, again something that may have come out in Apple focus groups, so thank you Apple for that. The phones now also offer two way Facetime video chat, meaning easier video chat between iPhone users, something that strengthens the iPhone community as well as being pretty darn cool!

When you add all these new features together it becomes apparent just what the excitement surrounding the iPhone 4, both from Apple and from technology fans, is all about. The 3GS was an incredible phone but they have seemingly improved on it no end. Throw in HD Video recording and a three-axis gyroscope that will make gaming even more fun and you have the most impressive mobile phone on the market.
